Please Style ?

Today, I was to style twenty eight year old Stephanie at department store Myer in looks suitable for both a day at the office and for after hours drinks. The lengths and styles had to be demure yet sexy, and appropriate for the transition from day to night. Stephanie would also prefer more dresses for quick, easy dressing to throw on in the morning rush.

We determined Stephanie's body shape as an apple shape with out a defined waist and a large bust. For this shape we decided to place emphasis on her bust line in v-necklines, detail around the bust, and wide boat necks to balance out her proportions. However, we did also place emphasis on her waist with sashes and belts and softly flowing skirts. The prints used show her youth and personality, and the medium sizes of the prints were proportionate to her frame. Her dress size is a 14 to 16, and her shoe size is a 10.

The finished product was a transitional summer to winter, work and play wardrobe, ready for anything that is thrown at her!

Style Me?

Today my mission was to style a young man for a boys night out on the town. Although not my usual assignment , it proved to be a very enjoyable experience! I loved scouring through the racks of linen blazers, button downs, and tailored pants in department store David Jones. Creating a vision of a polished, yet put together outfit that will breeze him into any club or pub in town.

Meet Daniel, we have identified he needs a smart casual outfit, a bit of a change from his usual polo and shorts combo but still incorporating his laid back attitude.

We have agreed that his perfect outfit suitable for a rectangular body shape consists of, a single breasted jacket or blazer to create the illusion of broader shoulders, a slim button down shirt, and chinos or casual pants not too slimly tapered. He is size 32 in pants, a 38 in jackets, and a 39 in button down shirts.

Portfolio

Hello Darlings,

I was going through my documents the other day and found all my fashion portfolio work I have done so far, so I have decided to show you lovely creatures some of my work over the past year. First I will show you my artworks.

Here is one of my school artworks from the theme 'life fabric' , the piece is called 'failure to thrive' and the meaning behind it is the transition to the unknown from the two states of being between, life and death.

The technique was a dress dipped in PVA glue in order to preserve the creases in the fabric, and the 'wounds' made out of oil and modelling paste act as the obstacles of life.

My second art piece 'Ambiguous Identity' illustrates the constriction of women throughout fashion's history through stereotypical interpretations of femininity. The crinoline corset structure is constructed of chicken wire to represent confinement of the female form, with lace and tulle as embellishment.

The tulle was used to create an ethereal quality for the silhouette , and as a change to the ideals of feminity.
The piece was shown hanging up in mid air with matching bra, underwear, and lipstick all made of chicken wire.

Watch this space for more of my fashion related creations.

Welcome to my Tea Party

Hello darlings, I'm a fashion enthusiast from a small city in Australia named Brisbane. I love lolling about the intriguing, exciting world of fashion and everything related to it!

Here are some beautiful inspirations and elements of my take on the world:

Audrey Hepburn is not only one of my style icons, but life icons. Her elegant, quirky and kind outlook on life inspires my own philosophy of life.

This image encapsulates the need to capture and hold on to innocence and beauty in today's modern society.

I love the quaintness of the english lifestyle, and the fact that tea drinking is a part of everyday life makes it that much better!

The fantasy dream world of snow white photoshoot for italian vogue,  shows the harshness and softness of a fairytale story.

Tea time is my favourite part of the day! I love how perfect this breakfast is, and the femininity of this ancient tradition of tea drinking is particularly attractive.
