pearls,crystals and pale blue

I am in LOVE with this layered pearl and crystal necklace by Forever New! It has a 50's debutante feel to it that I adore, teams perfectly with my pale blue embroidered dress!

Its all in the details

Broderie Anglaise, French for ‘English embroidery’ has recently arisen from the fashion grave as an interpretation of the most recent lace trend. Broderie Anglaise known for its fine transparent needlework technique harks back to the early 19th century, during a time when attention to detail was so representative of your social status, the more elaborate the better!

The early 1900’s showed Broderie Anglaise as very fashionable

Dolce and Gabbana harked back to a 70’s addition of Broderie Anglaise in 2007 with a glamorous bohemian inspired collection, and later that year Giselle Bunchen was seen in the trend on the cover of Paris Vogue.  Louis Vuitton’s spectacular show incorporated this trend into their spring summer 2012/ 13 collection in September last year, which featured exaggerated Broderie Anglaise with pastels, neat collars, and duster coats in sugared almond colors whilst the models demurely sat on their ornate horses of a white carousel.

Prada cast a pretty spell for spring with with their gorgeous ladylike hourglass silhouettes and bright pops of colour, a modern interpretation of the 1950’s glamazon.
The fashion world adores the new smell of optimism in the air, and celebrities and style icons alike have followed suit! Alexa Chung, Lana Del ray, and Dakota Fanning have been spotted in this whimsical trend  by either gracing the covers of high fashion magazines such as Harpers Bazaar and Elle, or on the red carpet its set to be big with many variations of the trend predicted to be popular for 2013 and 2014 collections.

High street interpretation

The notion of fashion dissemination is largely responsible to the popularity of this gorgeous trend; over nine international fashion magazines have featured the look this year, running hot off the press! The trend is set to be in response to extremely masculine ‘tough chic’ trends of the past, preferring a more feminine approach referencing old timely values, attitudes and beliefs to fashion this season. Broderie Anglaise is extremely popular this season, due to the glamorous image it provokes of late-50s-St-Tropez vibe, the light fabric being perfect for the warmer weather.

The recent resurgence in colour blocking and texture mixing has sparked along new trends such as Geek Chic, Modern Vintage, and eclecticism has embraced the Broderie Anglaise trend with a vengeance. The trend has now trickled down to both high-end designers such as Alannah hill and Carla Zampatti, and the high street with popular chain stores such as Sportsgirl and Portman’s sporting the look. The look is here to stay for the 2013 and 2014 shows with lace and needlework set to be huge for the spring! Stylish ladies take note the only way to be on trend this season is in the mantra ‘it’s all in the details!’

The incredible 'Bowie'

How stunningly gorgeous are the creations from Australia's  bridal and formalwear label bowie??

The designs somewhat remind me of Sarah burton for alexander Mc Queen , the white collection..

elegant and classy just like women should be.

But still totally amazing and original, the attention to detail is incredible!

I suddenly know where my wedding dress is coming from...

What dreams are made of...

Pastels!

I cannot get enough of this trend, in my world its a classic!
I love how soft, elegant, and beautiful the latest Ellie Saab collection is, all a complete delight!

If one's budget would allow for it I would have every one of these frothy confections!

And just a few equally as perfect pastel pieces!

The experience of helping to style and dress the 'first flower' show was amazing! All the models were so lovely and Kate is so trusting! I loved the beautiful fluid shapes of the collection that exuded femininity, yet had a edge to it to transition from weekend parties to contemporary office meetings.

Kate's Newest Collection ' soldiers and sweethearts ' is true to her glamorous and feminine aesthetic yet with a darker more vintage feel to it. I love it!

Gorgeous!
